Commemorating
our second anniversary by renewing our whole website, in this page
we are supposed to write about what Erawan is all about. At first,
we thought we could be boring and leave the old lines:

And we thought we could tell you ERAWAN
and our staff have been requested to be on TV shows (Asahi TV PUSUMA
April 2005), or tell you what has been written about us by others:

We also thought about telling you of our parent company, ERAWAN
Holdings, Ltd. and its many other ongoing projects such as
our import/export activities from Thailand, and even far away places
such as Mexico.
However, given the fact that ERAWAN
has touched the lives of so many people in these past two years
(we have grown 500% since our doors opened!),
we thought you deserve to know what ERAWAN
has grown into thanks to each one of you, our kind old and new patrons.
ERAWAN has become an
“Oasys in the City.”
To those who have walked into the temple-like atmosphere of our
premises, from the first moment wrapped by the aroma of our Thai
floral incense, delighting their senses with our herbal teas, Thai
hand-made furniture and decorations, and dim-lit private rooms,
these lines do not come as a surprise. There is a reason why more
than 60% of our patrons are repeaters, and there is a reason
why our biggest source of advertising (35%) is word-of-mouth.
ERAWAN has become an
Oasys not only to the many people who come to be healed in body
and spirit, but also to every single one of us who finds at ERAWAN,
as a workplace, a fulfilling way of life. Did you know that we
pray and give our offerings to the Buddha in our shop everyday before
opening our doors? It is important for us to have the right
“heart” in what we do, for you, for us, for our
community. Our mission remains to be your Oasys in the City, where
you can take care of yourself as you deserve it, where you can go
back to that peaceful place within yourself, like the Buddha,
before you go out and face the world again.
Yet, if you are considering becoming a new patron, you should be
careful.
